Meat Free Mondays April 02 2015

Have you heard about Meat Free Mondays? It's a food campaign launched by Sir Paul McCartney and his daughters Mary and Stella. This campaign was started to help encourage people to slow down the effects of climate change by having one meat-free day a week. Reducing our meat intake will ultimately reduce our carbon emissions and improve the planet. It's estimated that livestock production is responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Besides the fact that you can save money on your weekly shop! eating less meat is a compassionate step for our planet and good for your health. We at Moonbird are all too aware of the mistreatment of animals that's why all of our products are vegan but we understand that it's a big leap for most people make, but one day a week with no meat is achievable even for the hardiest carnivore and it's the first step to a healthier life. If you are stuck for recipes for your Meat Free Monday, there are heaps on the foundations website all contributed by chefs and celebrities from across the globe!
