Our Organic Cotton's Journey March 18 2018

Our organic cotton clothing travels to Australia, from India, to find it’s lucky new owners. It's had the best start in life - good soil, mostly rainwater, lots of sun, an absence of pesticides and picked by thriving, healthy farmers.

Our organic cotton’s journey from fibre to fabric may be quiet and slow, as in our handwoven range, or faster and more modern for our machine milled fabric, but all are dyed and printed without using harsh toxic chemicals.

Our organic textiles are made into garments by workers who are respected and thriving. Then our organic clothing is on it's way to the sunny shores of Australia. Australians are becoming more aware of the need to question which chemicals we're exposing our bodies to, both inside and out.

The pesticides used on cotton plants along with the chemicals used in the processes of milling, dyeing and finishing conventional cotton have been shown, in numerous studies, to be carcinogenic and to cause many health problems such as skin conditions, asthma, Parkinson’s disease and ADHD.

It’s safer to choose organic cotton clothing and here in Australia it’s getting easier to find brands that are embracing the future and going partially or completely organic.
